Overview

The David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) is an art museum located on the Ball State University campus in Muncie, IN. The aim of this project is to focus on UI/UX while designing an app that enhances the experience of visitors with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia.

Currently, DOMA has a lot of issues where it would make it harder for people with Dyslexia to be able to digest and understand information about various artworks and exhibits within the museum. Visitors with Dyslexia might have a hard time being able to read the artwork information sheets due to various factors such as (but not limited to) small font sizes, “walls” of texts where there is too much text to the point that it becomes overwhelming to try to read, and difficult spacing.

For the proposed new DOMA app, the objective would be to offer various features that would enhance the overall experience for those visiting the museum with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia. This app would allow users the ability to easily digest artwork information and feel more comfortable exploring the various artworks.

Do note: This app isn’t supposed to be pretty, its supposed to be accessible!

This app follows the WCAG Guidelines.
